Owner, Chief Operating Officer

Myself, my husband Paul and my father George Farmer started our first venture into early childhood education in 2001. LeafSpring School at Sonterra has been operating in the Stone Oak area for more than 16 years and is nationally accredited through NAEYC, COGNIA (formerly AdvancED) and TX Rising Star. With the help of our extremely talented staff and loyal families, we have grown LeafSpring School San Antonio into the premier preschool in North San Antonio. LeafSpring School is the model to which the local colleges and universities refer their early childhood students for observations and internships.

My background as a special education teacher gives me insight into early childhood education and as both a teacher and a mother, it has been my intention to provide quality care to other parents in San Antonio. With the addition of LeafSpring School at Cibolo Canyons Canyons, in 2013, we are able to provide an incredible education and school-age recreation program to even more families! I am so excited with success of both programs and the relationships we have created at both schools. On a personal level, I have three fantastic kids, Kyle (23), Kennedy (18)and Collin (16) who have all grown up at LeafSpring School and I couldn’t be more proud of them and their accomplishments. I love to travel with my family, reading and relaxing with friends.

Director of Operations

My name is Heather Mattingly and I have been with LeafSpring Schools for over 10 years.  I began as a Lead Teacher in Red Room and worked my way up to Site Director.  In February of 2013, my journey with LeafSpring School continued as I opened our new location on Marshall Road.  I have my degree in Early Childhood Education and have spent most of my life working with young children.  I enjoy the freedom of play and learning that is associated with the little ones.  I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 26 years and we have two children, ages 22 and 25, and three pound pups.  We moved from Wichita, KS to San Antonio over 16 years ago and have enjoyed every minute of it – well, except the heat.  I enjoy going to the movies and being creative, whether it be painting, crafts, sewing or cooking.

Director of Campus Programs
Hello, I am currently the Director of Campus Programs at LeafSpring School at Cibolo Canyons. I began my journey with Rainbow Station, now LeafSpring School, in December of 2008 at our Stone Oak location doing breaks and specials.  Quickly I moved through the school becoming a  lead teacher in a preschool classroom and progressed into becoming their Administrative Assistant. When this location opened I was pleased to be given the opportunity to continue my growth with the company as the Village Director in March of 2013 and now Site Director.

I earned a BA in Early Childhood Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio.  I have two children who have both attended preschool at LeafSpring School and are now enrolled in the Village program. I could not imagine a better place for them to learn and grow.

Hi, my name is Kirby Antwine. I began working at Rainbow Station, now LeafSpring School, in October of 2014. I joined the team as a lead teacher in the Gold room. I moved to the Village my second year to become the Curriculum Specialist where I moved into the position of Assistant Director. I am currently the Program Director for the Village. I have my Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Family Studies. I have always been drawn to working with children of all ages but I do enjoy working with elementary school age the most.

I am married and have one daughter who has attended LeafSpring School since she was 3 months old. It is exciting to get to watch her learn and grow in her classroom on a daily basis. LeafSpring School has been a wonderful part of our family.

Director of Training

My name is Kathryn Bryant. I am originally from the town of Otterbein in the great state of Indiana. I am a 1994 graduate of Purdue University (Go Boilers) with a BA in Education. I moved to Texas in December of 2001.

I am a proud mom to 3 handsome boys, Andrew, Matthew and Ryan.  Being a boy mom has been challenging and rewarding at the same time over the years.  I would not change a single thing.

I began working for Rainbow Station, now LeafSpring School, in September of 2005 as a part time teacher in the Mother’s Day Out program.  I have been very fortunate to earn the opportunity to move up through the ranks of LeafSpring School. I moved from part time teacher to Preschool Curriculum Specialist then to Preschool Program Director.  Now, I have grown one more time and I am the Director of Training for LeafSpring School. This role allows me to provide training to new and existing staff to be successful teachers.  My overall goal, for the families and staff of LeafSpring School, is to help provide an environment where children are happy and eager to learn.
